Marlette gets football offer from NDSU

Washington High School linebacker Dan Marlette picked up a scholarship offer from North Dakota State on Saturday while attending the Bison’s individual camp in Fargo.

Marlette, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound rising senior, also has Division I FCS offers from South Dakota State and South Dakota.

“They’re looking at me as a linebacker, but it might be a while until I make a decision,” said Marlette, who was named to the Class 11AA all-state team as a junior after making a team-high 75 tackles, including 13 for loss.

Offensively, Marlette rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown in Washington’s 35-20 win over Brandon Valley in the state championship game.

His brother, Tim, is a Washington alum who recently completed his career at USD, playing a key role at middle linebacker for the Coyotes as a senior in 2012.
